Terms
Draft. This describes how akard actually works, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer and is not yet a binding agreement. Do not rely on it. It will be replaced before akard is open to the public.
What akard is
Software for recording and displaying what you sell. akard is not a marketplace, not a payment processor and not a party to your sales. We do not hold your money, take a percentage of it, or stand behind anything you sell.
Payments between you and your buyer
Cash and PayNow go directly from your buyer to you. Disputes, refunds, returns and the accuracy of what you list are between you and them.
Your shop’s address
Your chosen address cannot be changed, because it is printed on QR stickers that leave your possession. Some names are reserved for akard itself. We may reclaim an address that impersonates someone, but not simply because someone else wants it.
Your data is yours
Your catalogue, sales and customer records belong to you. Export is available on paid plans, and we will provide an export on request regardless of plan.
Plans and limits
Plan limits are enforced by the software. Exceeding a limit stops you adding more of that thing; it never deletes what you already have. Downgrading gives fourteen days’ grace before cards above the new limit become drafts, and upgrading restores them.
What we will not host
Counterfeit or stolen goods, anything you are not entitled to sell, or content that impersonates another shop. We may suspend a shop for these. A suspended shop’s storefront goes dark; its data is not deleted.
Stopping
You can leave at any time and take your data with you. We would give notice before shutting anything down, and long enough to export.
